What happens when a former graffiti artist and sneaker customizer grows up and trades in the aerosol cans for the tools of a Master Cobbler? The answer is Greenwich Vintage. Co-founded by Tamas “Zen” Pomazi and Max Miller, Minneapolis-based Greenwich Vintage takes the color and edge from street art and combines it with the classic style of men’s wingtips, boots and chukkas. The key to this new take on men’s footwear? Greenwich Vintage’s colored soles that are manufactured in-house through open-air molds.
Taking a cue from Zen’s history of customizing Jordans, Air Force Ones and Air Maxs, Greenwich Vintage offers a one-of-a-kind resole service where customers can send in their shoes and boots that they have lying around to be resoled with colored soles. In addition, Greenwich Vintage sells custom wingtips with colored soles on a built-to-order basis, limited edition re-crafted footwear and collaborative men’s clothing and accessories. Greenwich Vintage also has begun offering its colored soles to local “Mom & Pop” shoe repair shops across the country, giving these small businesses a new color and style option for customers. Finally, one of the best things about Greenwich Vintage, everything is Made in America.
