What's one thing all military surplus and vintage goods have in common? Well, it's all still around. A big reason why is because of the specifications and quality control that went into these products.
I was inspired by my old "beat-up-but-still-around" US Army Airborne tee. It was printed on an earlier BEST Fruit of the Loom Blank, Made in the USA. Some of the details on the shirt included the thick re-inforced collar and the blind stitching on the hem of the arm sleeves. It was always those small details that I felt made the shirts last just a bit longer than most.
On our Heavyweight tees, we used 7.7oz Jersey 100% Cotton that was really heavy duty. This is not only built to last longer and not wear so thin but provide a little more warmth in the colder months. We used the thick collar and added a smaller work pocket. Each tee is dyed using a Pigment Dyeing process which gives the tees a more worn out look.
